Dav was the chauffer for Delphine and Thomas on the wedding day…via tractor.

Delphine and Thomas’ wedding gave us a good excuse to travel to France this summer, and I jumped at the chance. From June 24th to July 3rd, Dav and I met up with Burks and traveled from Blancardy, Corsica, to Paris.
The married couple…Delphine and Thomas Diet
We spent three crazy days at Blancardy, lucky enough to participate in all the wedding festivities. It was a party from the minute we arrived…the rose wine wiped away any stress left over from the Gare de Lyon in Paris (main train station that was a junk show on a summer weekend). Delphine made a beautiful bride and is now Madame Diet….very cute. The hospitality was impressive as usual and was spread out to 380 wedding guests….I couldn’t imagine hosting so many people, but Blancardy made it happen magnificently.
Me and Rach at the wedding party…the all night wedding party.
The town hall segment of the wedding.
Cecile, Dav, and I at a cute, dockside restaurant near Aleria, Corsica….20 minutes from Dav’s parents’ home.
After Blancardy we spent three days in Corsica. We visitied beautiful beaches and the gorgeous old, fortified town of Bonifacio. It s city walls draped the ocean cliffs and glowed in the setting sun. Dav’s parents moved to the island earlier in the year, so we got to visit them and their cute home at the foothills of the Corsican mountains. They were lovely and so kind to take care of us for our quick trip…we definitely didn’t have enough time to see nearly all that could have been seen….I guess there will have to be a next time. Merci Ange et Cecile! Vous ete trop genti!
Corsica Beach…the water was gorgeous.

After Corsica we flew back into Paris for a night before heading home. We had a magical Parisian dinner with great Parisians. William, Meline, Stephan, and Francoise were delightful company and showed us some really good food.
A Kelly/Rachael dinner after a day in Bonafacio…cute little joint, but the skeeters were horrendous…I itched for days.
Oh, the streets of Paris…with Rach and Dav.
A true Parisian dinner….so good…
Parisian hospitality….it may sound like a contradiction, but I swear it’s true. Francoise, Stephan, Meline, Francoise’s friend, Rach, me, and William…good company.
It was a good trip…quality Burks time (which I miss a lot), Dav in his element, pan au chocolate, fromage, and pretty beaches. Now it’s back to work and a Montana summer, finaly. I’ll be off of my nursing orientation this week, so I’ll be an official nurse all on my own in just a few days…yikes!
(One can’t go to Paris without a portrait with Charles…)
